Gravel Match-Up, the Wide Tire Showdown: Allied Able vs. ENVE MOG vs. 3T Extrema Italia
In an earlier blog, we compared the ENVE MOG and the 3T Extrema Italia. Two high-end gravel bikes that may look very similar at first glance, but each has its own character. With the arrival of the Allied Able, there is now a third option that fits perfectly into this line-up. A bike that doesn’t simply choose between speed or adventure, but brings both worlds together.

Geometry & Performance
The ENVE MOG is sleek and sporty, with a geometry that closely resembles an endurance racer. Ideal for those who love speed and control. The 3T Extrema Italia, on the other hand, offers extra stability and comfort without feeling sluggish – perfect for those who also plan on bikepacking or longer adventures.
The Allied Able sits nicely in between. It’s a bike with a clear racing focus, but at the same time stable and reliable on rougher terrain. This makes the Able just as much at home in a fast gravel race as it is on a long endurance ride or technical trail.
What truly sets the Able apart is the low stack. The front end of the bike is significantly lower than many other gravel bikes, resulting in a distinctly sporty position. For comparison: in the same frame size, the front of the Allied Able is 12 mm lower than the ENVE MOG and even 15 mm lower than the 3T Extrema Italia. This contributes to the sharp, race-oriented handling, but it does demand something from the rider. If you’re used to a relatively comfortable position with little “drop” to the bars, the Able may feel less suitable. But for those seeking sportiness, this is a big advantage.
Tire Clearance Matters
In our previous blog, we already highlighted that tire clearance has become a major differentiator. The ENVE MOG can fit up to 50 mm wide tires, more than enough for most gravel rides. The 3T Extrema Italia goes a step further with clearance up to 57 mm, or even 60 mm with slicks.
The Allied Able seamlessly joins this segment: this frame also allows clearance up to 57 mm (2.25”), making it easy to adapt to the terrain and rider’s preferences. From fast gravel tires to wide mountain bike tires, such as the popular Schwalbe Thunder Burt or the new Continental Dubnitals, it’s all possible!

Design & Finish
Where ENVE is known for its clean, understated design and 3T adds Italian flair and detailing, Allied goes for sleek and modern. The frames are fully painted and finished in-house, resulting in a premium and refined look. No excess, but with great attention to detail.
Build Options & Availability
All three models are premium framesets that you can build up with high-end components of your choice. With the ENVE MOG, you can opt for an ENVE bar or an integrated barstem. The Extrema comes standard with the 3T MORE carbon stem, though an aluminum version is also an option. Beyond that, you can choose a 3T bar (or another brand) as you like.
The Allied Able comes standard with Allied’s own ST03 stem, painted in the same color as the frame. From there, you can choose the handlebar that suits you – for example ENVE, 3T, or Zipp.
The Able is available from us in several versions right away, and for those seeking something unique, there is a custom paint option with a lead time of 6–8 weeks.

Conclusion: Three Top Bikes, Three Styles
The ENVE MOG, the 3T Extrema Italia, and the Allied Able each have their own accents. One is sportier, another more focused on adventure, and the third a combination of both. But what they all share is their versatility, making them capable of tackling almost any gravel adventure.
Instead of excluding each other, these bikes actually complement one another. Which choice fits you best depends on your riding style, preferences, and ambitions. One note: the Allied Able has the sportiest geometry of the three, with a notably low front end. That makes it lightning-fast and sharp, but it’s good to keep that in mind when making your choice.
