Also a new SRAM Rival E1 Groupset: Smart, Strong and accessible

Alongside the launch of the new Force E1 groupsets, SRAM is today introducing a significant update to its most accessible electronic groupset: SRAM Rival E1. The new generation is smarter, more versatile and lighter than ever, and comes in two versions.

Rival E1 1x13 XPLR is the gravel-focused setup with 13 gears in the rear.
Rival E1 2x12 is a reliable and affordable groupset for road riders.

    New ergonomics and carbon shifters

SRAM brings ergonomic improvements to Rival as well. The redesigned shifters have a slimmer and more comfortable shape, ideal for long rides or demanding gravel efforts. A notable upgrade is the use of carbon levers, just like Force and Red. This provides a premium feel and contributes to a lighter cockpit.

Note that the bonus buttons found on Force and Red are not included in Rival, but all AXS functionality remains available and fully configurable via the app.

New crankset: strong, light and future-proof

The Rival E1 crank has been redesigned with a hollow aluminum construction, making it both durable and lightweight. SRAM also updated the crank to the 8-bolt standard, allowing for easy upgrades to Force or Red chainrings, or even a dual-sided power meter.

For those who don’t need dual-sided measurement, a more affordable single-sided power meter option remains available – accurate enough for most riders.

    Improved braking and reduced weight

Rival E1 also benefits from the new push-rod braking system that SRAM introduced with Red. It offers more braking power and better modulation, without requiring more hand effort.

In terms of weight, there is a clear reduction compared to the previous Rival AXS generation. Thanks to the lighter crankset and revised cassette, the total group weight is noticeably lower, which you'll feel during climbing and acceleration.

    Full AXS compatibility

Naturally, Rival E1 is fully compatible with the SRAM AXS ecosystem. You can mix and match components from Force or Red, and adjust everything via the intuitive AXS app. Ideal for riders looking to upgrade their setup step by step.
