1. What were your considerations prior to choosing this bike?
When I was looking for a new gravel bike, I was looking for a stylish and fast gravel bike that I could handle on both road and gravel trails. When I saw the Open U.P., I latched onto the bike's clean lines. In addition, I immediately fell in love with the color "British Racing Green.
2. What mix of components on the bike make the difference for you?
The Open U.P. frame looks sleek and is very agile and direct. The combination with the 1x12 Sram Force groupset, Zipp 303s wheels and Enve stem make the bike light and reliable.
The groupset shifts very quickly and with the gear: 43 - 10/32 ensures that I can use the bike well both on and off-road. This also applies to the Schwalbe G-One RS tires. These have low rolling resistance on the road, but also have good grip on off-road terrain.
The brown saddle and brown leather bartape from Sella Italia really complete the bike for me. I think these colors go really well with the color British Racing Green and they make the bike feel like my bike.
3. What are your experiences with the bike after the first rides?
During the first rides on the bike I immediately felt very confident on it. The bike feels really stable both on road and off road. I also noticed that the bike is very agile and direct. Every pedal is a hit and even though it is a gravel bike, on the tarmac it goes like a rocket. I haven't regretted the purchase of a my Open U.P. for a moment and am super satisfied with it.
