The new 3T Ultra² Italia
With the new 3T Ultra² Italia, 3T introduces a gravel bike for riders looking for more than just speed on fast gravel roads. This platform has been developed for rougher terrain, longer rides, and greater versatility, without losing the efficient and sporty character that 3T is known for.
The Ultra² Italia is produced in Italy, at 3T’s facility in Presezzo, and at the same time introduces a new production method: Fusion Carbon. With this, 3T takes another step forward in its Made in Italy story, with a frame built around comfort, control, and efficiency.
Where does the Ultra² Italia fit within the 3T line-up?
Within the 3T gravel range, the Ultra² Italia positions itself neatly between the Racemax / Racemax WPNT and the Extrema. While the Racemax models place more emphasis on speed and a direct race-oriented feel, the Ultra² Italia moves toward greater comfort, more tire clearance, and more control on rougher terrain. At the same time, it still feels sportier and more efficient than a truly extreme off-road setup. That positioning is a redactional interpretation, but it aligns logically with the geometry, tire clearance, and suspension compatibility that 3T describes for this model.
Developed for comfort, control, and capability
The geometry of the Ultra² Italia is based on the 3Touring concept, with a taller stack and shorter reach than 3T’s more performance-oriented models. This creates a more relaxed riding position, aimed at long gravel rides, ultra-distance riding, and bikepacking.
Control has also clearly been designed with confidence in mind. The head angle is tuned for each frame size to ensure the bike remains stable and predictable to handle, especially when the terrain becomes more technical.
In addition, the Ultra² Italia, with the Fango Ultra² fork, offers clearance for tires up to 57 mm WAM. Combined with the option to run a standard 27.2 mm seatpost, dropper post, or suspension seatpost, this creates a platform that is clearly more versatile than the average gravel bike.
Suspension-ready from the ground up
One of the most striking features of the Ultra² Italia is that it has been designed from the very beginning for both a rigid and a suspension fork. As an upgrade, 3T offers the DT Swiss F 132 ONE with 40 mm of travel, remote lockout, and integrated mounting options. This gives the bike more comfort and grip on rougher terrain, without losing the core concept of the bike.
Ready for long rides and adventure
The Ultra² Italia has also been built with versatility in mind. The frame features multiple mounting points for racks, fenders, and cargo cages, and includes internal downtube storage with a magnetic Fidlock system. The platform is also compatible with both mechanical and electronic drivetrains, and the rigid fork supports internal routing for dynamo cables.
Our first impression
The 3T Ultra² Italia looks especially interesting for riders who want to go just a bit further than classic gravel. More comfort, more grip, more possibilities — while still retaining that clear 3T focus on efficiency and speed. That is exactly what makes this such an interesting model within the current 3T range.
