    Pinarello New Dogma X

Meet the new Pinarello Dogma X

Pinarello has introduced the new Dogma X. A bike for riders who want the speed, precision and feeling of a true race bike, but with more comfort and control for long days in the saddle.

That combination is exactly what makes the Dogma X interesting. It is not a comfortable endurance bike that moves away from performance. And it is not a bike that feels completely separate from the Dogma F. The frame geometry is clearly tuned for longer distances, but remains remarkably close to the race DNA of the Dogma F. The Dogma X gets slightly more stack, slightly less reach and a calmer frame platform, making the bike more stable and more forgiving without losing its direct character.

In the way the Dogma X responds, accelerates and carries speed, it still feels strongly connected to Pinarello’s pure race bike.

During a visit to Pinarello in Treviso, Jochem and Jasper had the opportunity to test the new Dogma X on the roads around the Pinarello headquarters. That setting immediately made sense for a bike like this. Beautiful stretches of tarmac, rolling roads, fast sections and roads where comfort, stability and geometry become just as important as pure speed. Their first impression was clear: the Dogma X feels comfortable, but still very much like a fast race bike. And that is probably the most important part of the story.

    Performance for long days

Pinarello positions the Dogma X as a performance endurance road bike. A bike developed for long distances, where performance, efficiency and ride feel come together. That may sound broad, but once you ride the bike, the idea becomes clear. The Dogma X is made for riders who want to ride fast, but do not necessarily race every weekend. Riders who value speed, handling and the direct feel of a high-end race bike, but also want to feel good after several hours on the bike.

The Dogma F remains the pure race bike within the Pinarello range. That is the bike built for maximum performance at the highest level of racing.

The Dogma X takes a different approach, but in terms of feel it does not move far away from the Dogma F. A large part of that comes from the frame geometry. Pinarello has not completely reinvented the Dogma X as a comfortable endurance bike, but has subtly adapted it around the same performance DNA. The higher stack, shorter reach and longer wheelbase make the frame calmer and more stable than the Dogma F, especially at high speed and when the road surface is less smooth. At the same time, the geometry remains sporty enough to let the bike respond quickly and precisely.

As a result, the Dogma X still feels sharp, efficient and clearly related to the Dogma F. Much closer than you might expect from a bike that offers more comfort and control for long distances. That makes the Dogma X especially relevant for many riders we see at BikeSuperior. Not every rider wants to race. But many riders do want a bike that feels special, fast and precise on every ride.

    Tested around Treviso

Jochem and Jasper tested the new Dogma X in Jade Eclipse, built with SRAM RED AXS 2x12. The roads around Treviso are a fitting place to understand the character of the bike. You get enough variety to feel how the bike behaves at speed, how it accelerates out of corners and how calm it remains when the road surface changes.

What stood out most was the balance. The Dogma X feels comfortable, but never soft. The updated frame geometry gives the bike more calmness on longer sections and changing road surfaces, while the front end still feels precise and direct. As a result, the bike continues to inspire confidence when the speed increases, but still reacts sharply when you accelerate or come out of a corner.

It filters enough road vibration to make longer rides more enjoyable, while still keeping the feeling of a true race bike. That is not always easy to achieve. Some endurance bikes feel stable and comfortable, but lose too much sharpness. Some race bikes feel extremely direct, but can become tiring on longer rides or rougher roads.

The new Dogma X manages to stay close to the feeling of the Dogma F, while giving the rider more support over longer distances. For us, that brings it very close to the ideal road bike for someone who wants the speed and sensation of a race bike, but does not want a setup that only comes alive when every ride is full gas.

Comfort without losing the race feeling

What makes the new Dogma X interesting is how natural the comfort feels. It does not feel like Pinarello has made the bike softer just to make it more comfortable. The bike remains direct, sharp and responsive when you start riding harder. At the same time, the integrated front end, clean frame shapes and balanced geometry keep the bike feeling precise and efficient, exactly as you would expect from a bike at Dogma level.

On rougher roads and longer distances, it simply gives the rider a little more comfort. That was also what Jochem and Jasper noticed during their test ride around Treviso. The Dogma X filters out enough of the road to make long rides more enjoyable, but never loses the feeling of a fast race bike. That balance is exactly where the Dogma X makes a strong impression. It keeps the character you expect from Pinarello, while better matching the way many riders use their bike in real life.

    Wider tires are becoming normal

The new Dogma X offers clearance for tires up to 35 mm. A few years ago, that would have felt like a major step for a road bike. Today, it feels much more logical. At BikeSuperior, we see the same development across many high-end road bikes: tires are becoming wider and riders are increasingly open to setups that bring more comfort, grip and confidence without making the bike feel slow.

For us, 35 mm tire clearance on a performance road bike is no longer an exception. It is increasingly becoming part of what a modern road bike can be. That does not make the Dogma X a gravel bike or an all-road bike. It remains a road bike. But it does give riders more freedom to choose the right tire for their roads, riding style and the type of rides they do.

A setup with 30 or 32 mm tires will still make a lot of sense for fast road rides. But the option to go wider makes the Dogma X more versatile, especially for long rides, rougher roads and riders who value control as much as speed.

Who is the new Dogma X for?

The new Pinarello Dogma X is especially interesting for riders looking for a high-end road bike with real performance, but who do not necessarily need the most aggressive pure race bike in the range. For the rider who enjoys fast rides, long days, climbs, descents and beautiful roads. Someone who wants a bike that feels fast and precise, but also comfortable enough to keep riding well after several hours in the saddle.

If the Dogma F is the choice for pure race performance and maximum sharpness, then the Dogma X is the choice for speed with more comfort. That does not make it less serious. It simply makes it better suited to the way many riders actually ride. For Jochem and Jasper, that was exactly what stood out during the test ride. Comfortable, but still a real race bike. Not a compromise, but a different interpretation.
