Meet Jaegher, now at BikeSuperior
Jaegher builds bikes the way that's been done in Flanders for nearly a century: by hand, in a small workshop in Ghent, tube by tube around the dimensions and riding style of one rider. That craftsmanship goes back to 1934 and has been passed down within the same family ever since, generation after generation. Today they apply that same approach to both road and gravel bikes. Jaegher is now available at BikeSuperior.
For us, Jaegher adds something we didn't have in our range yet. We're seeing more and more riders looking not just for a high-end bike, but for a frame with a geometry built entirely around them. With brands like Argonaut, Festka and Mosaic we can already offer that at the very top of the market. Jaegher brings that same bespoke approach into a more accessible price segment, and does so with steel and stainless steel: materials that were still missing from our range.
That's what makes Jaegher interesting to us. Not as an alternative to carbon, but as a different way of building a high-end bike. A frame made to measure, handbuilt in Ghent, with a ride feel that gets its own character from the material itself.
The name Jaegher means "hunter", exactly the feeling you want on a road bike. That starts with how every frame comes together: no mould, no series production, but a welding plan built around the rider's body, not a standard size chart.
Made-to-measure geometry and stainless steel that excels in comfort
Every frame starts with a bikefit at BikeSuperior, where we work out the right measurements and geometry. Your position, your riding style and your goals are translated into a frame that fits from the first ride. No long stem or stack of spacers to bridge the gaps, but a position that's right from day one.
The frames are built from stainless steel. The top-tier material, FL.X (Columbus XCr), stands out above all in ride feel: the material flexes just slightly under load, filtering out shocks and vibrations without the bike losing any directness. That makes the difference on long rides, when your body feels every kilometre. It also doesn't age the way carbon can over time: no material fatigue, no cracking after years of heavy use, just a frame that keeps going. Should anything ever happen to it, a steel frame can also be straightened, re-welded or adjusted.
From welding plan to your Jaegher
Every frame starts with a welding plan, drawn up based on your measurements, geometry and the components you choose. The tubes are cut to length and mitred, after which the frame is TIG-welded piece by piece in the workshop in Ghent. At BikeSuperior we guide you through this entire process from start to finish:
From road to gravel, in the colour you choose
On the road, Jaegher builds three models. The Phoenix is the flagship: 3D-shaped stainless steel for the sharpest race performance. The Ascender uses the same stainless steel base in a more classic tube shape. The Interceptor is the more accessible entry point in Columbus Spirit steel, the same craftsmanship at a lower price.
For gravel there's just as much choice. The Typhoon is the flagship, built to race off-road the way you'd race on the road. The Hurricane offers that same stainless steel build in a slightly more accessible segment. And the Tornado is there for anyone who takes the road beyond the gravel: tyre clearance up to 58mm, mounting points for racks and mudguards and a geometry tuned for loaded, multi-day rides.
The bespoke approach doesn't stop at the model or the geometry. Every frame is available in more than 250 colour combinations, so the look of your bike becomes something you build yourself too.
Tested ourselves in Ghent
Before we add a brand to our range, we want to have experienced it ourselves. Our colleagues Pim and Jochem each put together their own Jaegher, with the bikefit and the choices around model, material and finish at BikeSuperior. They travelled to the workshop in Ghent together to see the build process with their own eyes.
Pim is now riding his Hurricane FLX, and his first impression is clear. From the first metres, the bike felt like it was truly made for him: the position was spot on straight away, and the playful character he'd specifically asked Jaegher for was immediately noticeable. What surprised him most was the comfort. The Hurricane feels fast and playful, yet still more comfortable than his previous gravel bike, the OPEN U.P. (1.0).
The look, too, turned out exactly as he'd pictured it beforehand. The classic lines and the steel give the bike a character all its own. For Pim, that completes the picture: from a cool idea to his own dream bike. Jochem chose the Phoenix FLX and will be building it up and testing it soon. We'll of course share his experience too once he's put in the necessary kilometres.
