Bjorn's Aurum Magma Essentia
Our team consists of enthusiasts, guys with passion and an eye for detail. They love to try out all the bikes in our store. But what kind of bikes do they ride themselves? In this blog you will find out.
In this blog we discuss the Aurum Magma Essentia of Bjorn, head of the workshop at BikeSuperior, based on three questions.
1. What were your considerations prior to choosing this bike?
I've had various road bikes, from entry-level to high-end. This year, I want to start racing on the road. I had some requirements when I started looking for a new road bike. The bike had to be fast, direct and most of all, good-looking. When I saw the Aurum Magma Essentia in the store, I knew this had to be my new road bike. I felt for the looks of the bike. The sleek traditional frame combined with the aerodynamic features, the tightly tucked cables and the ability to mount tires up to 30 mm appealed to me immediately.
2. What mix of components on the bike make the difference for you?
The frame is of course an important base, the carbon frame of the Magma Essentia is light, stiff and I really like the color Stone Grey! In also really like the traditional looks of the bike.
The Sram Force groupset looks sleek and shifts fast. I also find it a big plus that the groupset is wireless. The Sram AXS power meter is perfect for accurate data, which is perfect when I want to do my training.
The Zipp components complete the bike for me, they are light and high quality. I ride with Zipp 303s wheels, they have the perfect combination of weight and aerodynamics. Together with the Challenge Strada Pro tires, which have a lot of grip even on wet roads in combination with the low rolling resistance, makes this set suitable for all weather conditions.
3. After the first rides, what are your experiences with the bike?
I was already in love with this bike, but this feeling only increased during the first rides. I felt like I was floating over the road. The bike is tight and direct without losing agility.
I immediately felt confident on the bike. I can't wait to ride the first race on my Aurum.
