ENVE has taken the benchmark SES 4.5 to the next level. With this wheelset, Pogačar powered to victories in the Tour de France, World Championships, and the Ronde van Vlaanderen. While he prioritized aerodynamic efficiency over pure weight savings, he and his team envisioned a wheelset that combines the aerodynamic advantages of the SES 4.5 with the featherlight precision of elite climbing wheels.
After more than a year of development focused on carbon laminates, hub design, and manufacturing breakthroughs, the SES 4.5 PRO was born.

Construction and Design
The new rim design shaves ~50 grams per rim compared to the standard SES 4.5. This is achieved through:
- Reduced rim depth
- Narrower external width
- Material savings under the Wide Hookless Bead™ without compromising durability
- A newly engineered channel that maintains critical tubeless dimensions
- Wide inner rim width (24.5 mm) for low rolling resistance
- Thinner walls enabled by advanced materials
Aerodynamic Performance
The SES 4.5 PRO retains the patented shape of the original SES 4.5, known for its unmatched balance of stability, speed, and real-world aerodynamic efficiency. This Real-World Fast™ philosophy, developed in 2009 with aerodynamicist Simon Smart, prioritizes speed without sacrificing weight, durability, or handling. UAE Team Emirates independently selected ENVE wheels after private wind tunnel and road testing—and the rest is history.
Innerdrive PRO & Ceramic Bearings
The Innerdrive PRO hub is a lightweight straight-pull hubset weighing just 281 grams (87g front / 194g rear), featuring:
- 40-tooth ratchet
- Light-action spring for reduced drag
- Optimized spoke alignment to reduce twist
The ENVE PRO ceramic bearings feature:
- Hardened stainless steel races
