Ten years after the launch of the very first OPEN U.P., the moment has come: OPEN unveils a new milestone in their gravel history – the U.P.PER. CONCE.PT.
A decade of experience in one frame
OPEN is regarded as one of the pioneers in the world of gravel bikes. Ten years after the revolutionary U.P., they now present a fresh and modern take on speed, comfort and simplicity. The U.P.PER. CONCE.PT. is the result of years of refinement and takes the familiar OPEN U.P. to a higher level.
From fast-paced gravel rides to extended bikepacking adventures – this bike feels at home in any setting. Lightweight, efficient and surprisingly comfortable. A true all-rounder with confidence on any surface.
What makes the U.P.PER. CONCE.PT. stand out?
The U.P.PER. CONCE.PT. is designed with a focus on detail, versatility and performance:
Aerodynamics where it matters: A refined front end with a deeper headtube shape optimizes airflow and minimizes drag.
Comfort where you need it: The signature seatstays feature a balanced carbon layup and are shaped to absorb shocks and vibrations effectively.
Tire clearance: Up to 44 mm on the CONCE.PT version, and up to 45 mm WAM (Width As Measured) on the upcoming new U.P. and U.P.PER. models.
The frame also includes a T47 bottom bracket, is UDH-compatible (ready for the latest SRAM drivetrains), and features fully integrated cable routing through the new OPEN Carbon Gravel Bar.
You can choose between two forks – Aero or Adventure – depending on your riding style. The CONCE.PT comes standard with the Aero fork: light, stiff, and optimized for speed. The upcoming U.P. and U.P.PER. models will offer the Adventure fork option, which includes extra mounting points for bags or bottles.
In-Frame Storage & 2-By compatibility
In terms of smart innovation, the U.P.PER. CONCE.PT. does not include in-frame storage, in order to keep weight as low as possible. The upcoming U.P. and U.P.PER. frames will feature this, positioned just below the bottle cage. This clever solution prevents the bottle cage from being mounted directly onto the storage hatch, avoiding extra stress and reinforcing material – keeping the frame lightweight, just as we expect from OPEN.
Additionally, the new U.P. and U.P.PER. models will be 2-by compatible, thanks to an optional front derailleur mount – ideal for riders who prefer wider gear ranges.
The U.P.PER. CONCE.PT. is currently available in sizes M and L. In July, the rest of the line will follow, with the new U.P. and U.P.PER. in five sizes (XS to XL).
Made in Europe
OPEN has deliberately chosen European manufacturing. The frame is both built and painted in Portugal – a conscious decision aimed at improving transparency, sustainability and quality control. The result is a precisely crafted frame with personality and soul.
How does it compare?
The U.P.PER. CONCE.PT. stands out in the high-end gravel segment with its balanced mix of speed, comfort and simplicity.
Compared to the Aurum Manto, the CONCE.PT. offers more versatility and comfort, with little to no sacrifice in speed. In relation to the 3T RaceMax Integrale, geometry and aero profiles are quite similar, but OPEN uses their own integrated cockpit instead of 3T’s MORE stem with modular gravel handlebars.
The ENVE MOG is designed from a more off-road perspective, but the CONCE.PT. will likely feel livelier and more agile for most riders – especially on long rides and mixed terrain. And while the ENVE MOG and 3T Extrema Italia focus on rugged terrain and bikepacking, the OPEN clearly emphasizes performance, speed and efficiency.
In short: the CONCE.PT. is a high-end gravel bike with racing pedigree, all-road comfort, and outstanding versatility.
